This edition of our Real Humans: MBA Students series introduces some new members of the University of Chicago Booth School of Business MBA Class of 2025.
The five students profiled here matriculated along with 632 other MBA candidates out of 4,184 applicants. Forty-two percent of the new class are women and 36 percent are international, representing 54 countries. Based on Federal reporting guidelines, 28 percent of U.S. students identify as Asian American, seven percent as Black/African America, 11 percent as Hispanic/Latinx, and three percent as multi-race.
During their undergraduate years, the new crop of candidates averaged a GPA of 3.6. Twenty-six percent had majored in business and another quarter had majored in engineering. Economics followed at 20 percent. Fourteen percent had studies liberal arts and eight percent pursued physical sciences.
New Chicago Booth MBA students averaged five years of work experience upon matriculation. Nineteen percent of the class came from financial services followed by 18 percent from consulting. Fifteen percent hailed from the tech sector. Fourteen percent had worked in the nonprofit space, while seven percent each worked in private equity/venture capital or healthcare.
When it came time to take the GMAT, the Chicago Booth MBA Class of 2025 averaged a score of 728, with 66 percent submitting GMAT scores. For the 29 percent of students who chose to take the GRE, they landed an average Quant score of 163 and an average Verbal score of 162.
