Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management welcomed 529 new students as part of the MBA Class of 2025. Introducing the class profile, the school noted, “We are excited to welcome this new class of students who exemplify what it means to be a Kellogg Leader. They not only uphold Kellogg’s rigorous standard of academic excellence, but they demonstrate the unique combination of analytical, creative and social intelligence that sets our graduates apart time and time again.”

Diverse Representation
International students make up 38 percent of students this year. Women comprise 48 percent of the Kellogg MBA Class of 2025, again nearing gender parity. Nine percent of the new group of students represent LBGTQ+.
Of U.S. students and permanent residents, 42 percent are students of color. Based on federal guidelines, 20 percent of the MBA students identify as Asian Americans and 1o percent as Hispanic/Latinx. Six percent are Black/African American and another six percent identify as multi-race students.
Undergraduate and Professional Background
Thirteen percent of new Kellogg students were the first generation in their families to earn college degrees. During their undergraduate years, half of the Kellogg MBA Class of 2025 had studied business or commerce. Thirty-eight percent majored in a STEM discipline followed by 25 percent in humanities. Double majors were counted across categories. GPAs, based on U.S. schools that use a 4.0 scale, ranged from 2.8 to 4.0 with the average GPA landing at 3.7, the same average as last year’s class.
When it came time to take the GMAT, Kellogg MBAs averaged a score of 731, a two-point bump over last year’s class. GMAT scores ranged from 620 to 780. For those who decided to take the GRE, they earned a median Quant score of 163 and median Verbal score of 163.
The incoming MBA class averages just over five years of work experience. Consulting was the most popular pre-MBA industry, covering 26 percent of students’ work history. Nineteen percent each came from financial services or tech. Another eight percent had worked in healthcare/biopharma before matriculating and consumer products rounds out the top five industries at five percent.
