This edition of Real Humans: MBA Students takes us to the MIT Sloan School of Management to meet members of the MBA Class of 2025.

A total of 409 students joined the MIT Sloan Class of 2025. Forty-six percent of the latest class are women. Forty percent of students in the class are international and 60 countries are represented. Twenty-eight percent identify as U.S. underrepresented minorities.

With respect to students’ undergraduate degrees, a third of enrolled first-year MIT Sloan students pursued the field of engineering. Eighteen percent of students arrived in Cambridge with academic degrees in economics. Sixteen percent of first-year students majored in business. Twelve percent of students pursued degrees in math and science, and another six percent in computer science. Their median GPA was 3.61.

The new class’s median GMAT score landed at 730, and the middle 80 percent range of results spanned from 700 to 760. For those who took the GRE, the median scores for both Quant and Verbal came in at 130. Prior professional experience for members of the Class of 2025 averaged five years per student. Pre-MBA, 26 percent of the class had worked in consulting and 23 percent came from technology, which includes computers, electronics, software, internet, and telecom. Another 17 percent arrived on campus with work experience in financial services. Ten percent came from the government/non-profit/education sectors. Seven percent had worked in pharmaceutical, healthcare, or biotechnology.
