The UCLA Anderson School of Management‘s MBA Class of 2025 profile reveals a globally diverse and experienced class of accomplished professionals. The school selected 300 students for the new cohort out of 2,180 applicants (last year, the program received 2,471 applications). 

Academic and Professional History

Business and engineering degree holders make up the bulk of the new class, with 26 percent and 19 percent, respectively. Fifteen percent each majored in economics or humanities/social sciences. Another nine percent had studied math/computer sciences during their undergraduate years, and five percent had majored in physics/biological sciences. 

UCLA MBA students came to campus with an average of 5.7 years of experience. The most popular industry was high-tech at 24 percent. In a close second, 22 percent had worked in finance. These top industry choices were followed by consulting at 14 percent. Ten percent came from healthcare/biotech, and marketing and non-profit/public careers rounded out the top industries at nine percent each.

Class Demographics

Nearly half the class — 48 percent — are international citizens representing 41 countries. Thirty-seven percent of the cohort are women, and minority students make up 28 percent of the class.

Academic statistics were virtually unchanged year over year for the incoming class. MBA students this year came from 197 undergraduate institutions. The average GMAT score was 710, and the middle-80 percent GPA Range was 3.1 – 3.8
